Thanks for clicking here   Cheesy

I am wondering if you would be so kind as to help a little with the forum indexing project ?

Please prepare in the following format (and post in this thread) :

*Which category it should go under--which heading within category

*Exact title of thread
*Thread link
*Summary of topic(s)

Example :

Repertoire--Beethoven

Beethoven - The last 3
http://pianoforum.net/smf/index.php/topic,2748.msg23723.html
(progressive difficulty list for all 32 sonatas)

Before copying the link, PLEASE click the icon just to the left of the title of each thread so the thread is ready to read wherever you choose to bookmark it (and the thread is not just "floating" when opened to from the link).

This way, the threads are ready to be indexed.  Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated

Mayla's attempt to index of the forum
http://www.pianoforum.net/smf/index.php/topic,9159.msg92755.html#msg92755
(Index of the piano forum)

REQUEST :

If you run across ANY thread during your reading which seems interesting and useful to you, please feel free to submit it regardless of category.

Thanks,
Mayla

Thank you very much Bob  Cheesy, this is very helpful !

Now, for those of you who are browsing the site and find a thread that is useful and you are just dying to submit it as a link for the index, Nils has offered to have you use the "report to moderator" option located at the bottom right hand side of the thread.  Just let him know you would like for it to be indexed and it will be passed on to me  Smiley.  It's easier than ever  Grin and so much fun too !!!  Cool

Hey, YAY, it's supposed to trigger people's memories.  You know, I am so glad you posted Torp, because I was starting to wonder if I was just talking to myself... but then there is Bob (and dorfmouse, don't forget about dorfmouse... oh yeah  Cheesy ), so I started to wonder if I am Bob, talking to myself.  He he, *looks at her stash of lollipops and winks at them for no apparent reason*... *wonders if she is a piano lollipop pirate by night and Mayla-Bob by day*

*mysterious voice*  "GO PRACTICE MAYLA, GET BETTER!!!"

okay, okay

(thinks it is possible that Mayla and Bob are the same mind.  For that matter, this entire site could all be in your/my mind)

(Looks at the unresponsive pf members, the ones who don't post links for the index.  Begins poking them one by one with a stick) "Hey you!" says Bob, "Get posting please.  Let's build the index up.  Wouldn't it be cool to browse through related topics rather than do a search?"

REALLY!!!  Do I get to sing and wear a hat with big mouse ears?!!

Oops, sorry, wrong club. Sad

I really don't have anything to offer to the indexing project.  The one thing I had to offer was the link to where some guy with "way too much time on his hands" did something crazy and made some excel spreadsheet of all the graded music in the forum.  That dude was a freak.  Grin  But you already posted the link to that.

Mayla, you could just post whatever people put up.  Then, adjust things if someone finds an error.  That way you would just be posting and not having to review all the information.

People, we need more links!  Please!  Imagine if everyone posted one link per day -- how fast the index would grow...

Haha, I have had a good idea eventually! Why not put up a category for Non-Pf piano-related websites. Some that would come to mind:

Theory-sites on the web

(web theory course)

http://www.musictheory.net/

Sorry, no time to look for the content...

And some posts on teaching, althoug I am quite sure you already have them, but anyway...(thanks to...ah, it gets boring, but with more than 3000 posts, what do you expect? Anyway, a special tribute to Bernhard!)

Mayla, I took it upon myself to go through and format a section of the links that you posted above by providing the title as you suggested in your initial post.  I hope that I have not just duplicated work you have already done, but it seemed helpful.  Is this how you keep track of what you already have?  I did not have time to go through and categorize them, but I hope this helps.
